With the development of economy, there are more and more vehicles on the streets. Governments at all levels have to do something to solve the problem of heavy traffic in the city.
I would like to share with yosome ideas about this problem: firstly, the government should build more roads. This action can decrease the degree of street congestion and make it possible for cars to run faster than ever before. But each coin has two sides. If a city builds too many roads, the streets will occupy much land. We will have little space used for other purposes. So secondly, more special bus lines for public transportation should be added. Thus people can go conveniently everywhere they like; they will not ride bikes or drive cars. In this way, the number of cars and bikes on the road will be greatly cut down.
As far as I am concerned, if we want to solve this problem, we should set up an idea of public transportation first and give a priority to this idea in our traffic work.

Mostimportant of all, it is beneficial to the environment to ride a bicycle becausethe bike doesn't consume petrol; it is a pollution-free transport. In contrast,the exhaust released by the car is harmful to the environment. Since China is adeveloping country with a large population, bicycles will still be the mostpopular means of transport in China for quite a long time. Most people willstill ride bicycles to go to work or to school. The emperor country of bicycleswill remain for at least dozens of years.
The urban traffic is getting increasingly crowded nowadays in China. The roads are packed with cars, bicycles and pedestrians and traffic jams,bus delays and traffic accidents are a common scene. Then how to solve this prohlem? Some suggest to lay down more roads to make the traffic less crowded and speed up the flow of traffic. Others believe that we should open up more public bus routes, so that more people will take the public buses instead of travelling by cars and bicycles.
Though the above two views sound reasonable, they have their own drawbacks. The former may take up much land which could be used for farms and houses. The latter may cause inconvenience for those who are used to travelling by car or bicycle. I think the best answer to the traffic prohlem is a comhlnatlon of the two. More roads can he hulh to hold more traffic and meanwhile more puhllc bus routes can he opened up to those who prefer to use the public transportation.
